Since construction started back in May, there have been many traffic issues. Drivers have not been using the recommended detour to Dale Mabry Highway, but instead are taking smaller streets like Lois Avenue. This has posed a safety concern in the neighborhoods.

"We are losing a lot of business, but everybody's good. All customers are happy to come back to my store," said Syny, owner of the Sunoco Gas Station off of West Shore Boulevard.

10News talked to business owners and residents who believe the city is re-opening the road because of all the trouble it has caused.
