SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — The Sarasota County Area Transit is alerting riders that a bus operator has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The employee last ran a route on July 18, driving these routes prior to testing positive:
- July 15: Route 99 between 12:15 p.m. and 6:20 p.m.
- July 16 and 17: Route 12 between 6:15 a.m. and 11:40 p.m.
SCAT recommends anyone who rode these routes on the above dates and times monitor themselves for symptoms.
Both Routes 99 and 12 are continuing to operate on schedule. SCAT says its buses are deep cleaned nightly and wiped-down between runs.
Bus operators have been given facemasks, gloves, hand sanitizer and operational changes during the pandemic.
