WASHINGTON D.C., DC — If you hear train horns Thursday afternoon, chances are it's a show of support for workers who are putting in long hours during the coronavirus crisis.
Trains across the U.S. will honk their horns twice in a salute to transportation workers, as well as health care workers, first-responders, child care workers, grocery store employees and others providing essential services during the pandemic.
Amtrak trains and regional partner trains will participate in the honorary honks.
Amtrak Chief Operating and Commercial Officer Stephen Gardner says the workers should be “thanked for their courage, selflessness and the help they are providing to this country during this time.”
