GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A reported tornado brought damage to parts of Greensboro as it traveled through the city and into Rockingham County.
A local State of Emergency has been declared for Guilford County. There is one confirmed death in Greensboro. The county and town of Greensboro are conducting damage assessments.
It was a quick moving tornado that eventually touched down at Gate City Boulevard and Highway 29 Sunday around 5:10 p.m.

Northeast Rockingham County also had significant damage. The county says areas around Grooms Road, Frank Road and Rocky Ford Road have sustained the most damage.
The WFMY News 2 crew even had to take emergency shelter as the tornado traveled down Highway 29 and crossed over the station.
A man in Greensboro captured damage along Willow Road after the twister. The man in the video had to break down the door to his grandmother's house to get to her. He then begins to comfort her after realizing he's okay from the storm.

A viewer captured video of the tornado from the highway as it continued to travel.
Immediately reports of damage started coming into the station. Damage includes homes, buildings, cars, trees down and power outages.
Huge trees fell and crushed a car on Cone Boulevard near Summit Avenue in Greensboro. WFMY News 2 has learned one person in the car has died.
A mobile home was picked up and tossed across the street onto a car in Reidsville. Two people were in the car at the time when the mobile home hit it. They were taken to the hospital.
The tornado traveled from Greensboro to Browns Summit, Reidsville, Ruffin, while traveling towards Danville, VA.
On social media, Rep. Ted Budd released a statement on Twitter:
If you need a place to stay tonight, the Glenwood Recreation Center is open as an emergency shelter.
Dudley High School is also open as a shelter.
