ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A wind chill brought in colder weather for the Tampa Bay region this week.

As temperatures drop, cold weather shelters have been made available for those who may be in need of a warm place to stay overnight.

Cold weather shelters will be available in the following counties at the following locations:

Hernando County:

Individuals needing shelter are asked to contact Jericho Road Ministries for help.

Men can seek shelter at 1090 Mondon Hill Rd. in Brooksville, phone number: (352) 799-2912 ext.103.

Women can seek shelter at Mary's House located 1163 Howell Ave. in Brooksville, phone number: (352) 799-2912 ext.109.

Hernando County Office of Public Information is also asking for cold weather donations, including jackets, hats, gloves, blankets, and sleeping bags. They will be accepted from Wednesday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The office is located at 18900 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville and can be reached at (352) 754-4083.

Hillsborough County:

Two shelters are allowing pets, including: Brandon Community Center and Jackson Springs Recreation Center. Limited pet supplies will be available and all pets must be leashed. Pet owners have been encouraged to bring their own crates, pet food, blankets, and pet medications. For more information on Hillsborough County cold weather shelters, check out their website.

The following shelters will also be made available in the county for individuals and their families, with few exceptions which are listed below:

Pasco County:

Cold weather shelters will be made available Tuesday through Saturday night. The shelters will open around 6 p.m. every night and close the following morning at 7 a.m. Families are asked to call the United Way to set up their cold weather arrangements.

Samaritan Project of Zephyrhills has limited services and individuals are asked to call (813) 810-8670 before 9:00 p.m. daily. No pets are allowed.

Pinellas County:

Cold weather shelters in Pinellas County will be made available Wednesday through Friday night around 6 to 6:30 p.m. until around 6 a.m. the following day, unless otherwise indicated. The shelters may remain open Saturday night as well if it remains cold. Families with children are asked to call 2-1-1 to make arrangements for family shelters.
