The heat that picked up over the weekend will hang around into the first half of the week. Temperatures Monday morning across Tampa Bay will start in the upper 70s around 80 degrees. High pressure centered to the northeast will keep our general flow out of the east-northeast today. Under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies temperatures will warm very quickly. By lunchtime, temperatures will already be in the middle 80s with the humidity making it feel more like the middle 90s.

This afternoon will be partly cloudy with a chance for a few late day showers or storms rolling in from the east. There is a 30% chance of rain today. High temperatures this afternoon will be around 93° with heat indices around 100°.

BEACH AND BOATING: Winds on the water today will be out of the east and then shift to the northeast early this afternoon from 5-10 knots. Near the coast, the sea breeze will shift the winds more out the west through the afternoon. Expect 2' seas or less with only a light chop on the bays and inland waters. The Gulf temperatures are around 89°.

The storms will dissipate this evening and give way to partly cloudy skies overnight. Low temperatures will be in the upper 70s.

Relatively small rain chances will continue through the rest of the week with high temperatures returning to the low 90s each day. By Friday the chance of rain will increase to around 40%.

Have a great week!
