Abundant moisture has moved over Tampa Bay this morning and this will give way to a good chance for scattered showers and storms through the first part of this morning. Periods of heavy rain and frequent lightning will be possible in some of the stronger storms. Otherwise, conditions will be partly sunny as temperatures start to warm out of the upper 70s on their way to the low-middle 80s by lunch time.

As the sea breeze start to develop this afternoon with the heating of the day storms will push inland leaving mainly dry conditions along the coast. Otherwise, skies will remain partly sunny through the afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 80s.

BEACH AND BOATING: Winds on the water today will be out of the west around knots with 1-2' seas and only a light chop on the bay and inland waters. Look out for scattered morning thunderstorms and only isolated afternoon showers or storms. The Gulf temperature is currently around 90°. The UV index this afternoon will be at 11.

Showers and storms will gradually dissipate through this evening with a few showers drifting back toward the coast as the die off overnight. Skies will be variably cloudy overnight with temperatures bottoming out around 80° along the coast to near 75° inland.

A fairly typical pattern driving by the sea breeze will remain for Friday and the weekend with a slightly higher chance of more widespread showers and storms for Sunday and Monday.
