ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The pattern that we have been in lately will begin to transition today, but overall the general flavor of the day will be similar to the last few days.

Sunshine will get us started before showers and storms begin to pop up along the coast through midday day.

The east coast sea breeze will then send more showers and storms across the Peninsula to produce more widespread showers and storms for the late afternoon and evening time frame.

Meanwhile, skies will start mostly sunny and transition to partly sunny skies as the showers and storms begin to develop. High temperatures this afternoon will be around 90 degrees.

A trough of low pressure will drop in from the north through the middle of the week which will bring more widespread showers storms, especially for the first half of the day.
