Hernando County 7-Eleven damaged by strong winds

Luckily, deputies say no one was injured as a result of the storm damage.

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — Strong storms moved through the Tampa Bay region Sunday morning causing tornado warnings in some areas and leaving damage in its wake.

A 7-Eleven in Hernando County wasn't exempt from the latter with the sheriff's office reporting the location sustained wind damage.

A photo from the gas station on Commercial Way in Spring Hill showed the structure that covers the location's gas pumps ripped off in some places and hanging down in others.

Luckily, deputies say no one was injured as a result of the storm damage.

"The damage appears to be an isolated event and no one was injured at the scene," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook.

Hernando County also saw flooding with reports of water flowing over Pine Island Driver and Bayou Drive.

"The increase in water level is attributed to high winds on the gulf and the early onset of high tide," the sheriff's office wrote.
