911 CALL: There's an alligator in my kitchen
Clearwater police: Clearwater police, this is Matt.
Homeowner: Hey Matt, I have a gigantic alligator that came in through my garage and is sitting in my kitchen. A huge one.
Clearwater police: I’m sorry- is it in your house?
Homeowner: Yes! It’s huge!
Clearwater police: You said it’s in your kitchen?
Homeowner: Yes! I don’t know how it got here but it’s here.
Clearwater police: Okay… Alright. Are you safe? Are you in your bedroom?
Homeowner: Yes, I shut the door and I’m in my bedroom. I’m not leaving here until you get here.
Clearwater police: Okay. We’re on the way ma’am. The newspaper deliverer actually called in because she saw it kind of hanging around there. So, we’re on the way. Okay, alright. We have a couple officers on the way there. Just stay inside the room with the door shut and locked.
Homeowner: I’m not going anywhere, Matt.
Clearwater police: We’re going to…uh... are you the only one in the house?
Homeowner: Yes.
Clearwater police: Okay, alright. Like I said, we’re on the way up there ma’am. We’ll be up there in a few minutes okay?
Homeowner: Okay—I’ll just sit here.
Clearwater police: Okay, keep your phone on. We’ll call you when we get up there okay?
Homeowner: Okay. I’ll have my phone on.
Clearwater police: Okay, thank you.
