Man goes from homeless to car owner thanks to hard work
Just months ago, Joshua Torres was homeless, jobless and was a regular at St. Vincent DePaul Soup kitchen in Clearwater. Then he worked hard and was able to get behind the wheel of a car.
Then he decided to join a workforce readiness program called the North County STARS program. He also joined the Pinellas Ex-Offender Re-Entry Coalition and the Homeless Empowerment Program in Clearwater.
Torres finished the STARS program, got into housing and got a job at Base Culture Bakery.
Wheels for Success handed Torres the keys to a car Friday morning.
