April Fools' joke lands local prankster in handcuffs
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office was not amused at one man's attempt at an April Fools' joke.
According to investigators, the not-so-humorous prank happened around 4 p.m. Monday in a parking lot on Cattlemen Road in Sarasota. Deputies say Charles Ross, 25, was wearing a police uniform and carrying a baton in his belt when he approached a woman who was carrying two small children, then tried to give the lady a parking ticket.
