It’s our favorite part of the week!

Friday leads us into the weekend, but it’s also when we showcase our 10News School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida. This week we spent time on the campus of Turner/Bartels K-8 in Hillsborough County.

There really is something for everyone who attends the school.

It’s one reason Turner/Bartels K-8 is our 10News School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida. This school has two campuses splitting the upper and lower grades of nearly 2,000 students.

The school is a Microsoft Showcase School, a distinction only a few hundred in the world have, only 34 in the United States and one of three in Florida. The school earned this recognition by demonstrating an expertise in using Microsoft technologies in the classrooms.

The school offers an extensive STEM program tailored to the students of all grade levels. The TSA group is number one in the state of Florida. Pretty impressive for a program only in its third year.

It’s not all tech either. The students participate in a variety of music class from drums, band, orchestra, chorus and piano to name a few. They compete in six areas of competition and earn superiors in each.

As you can tell, the students and staff have a lot to be proud of at Turner/Bartels K-8.
