TAMPA, Fla. — A person is dead and two others are hurt after a house fire occurred Thursday morning in Tampa, officials say.

At around 8:53 a.m., crews arrived at a home on the 3400 block of Beach Street in West Tampa after receiving reports that it was on fire, Tampa Fire Rescue said in a news release.

Firefighters reportedly saw half of the home on fire and smoke coming from the carport.

Crews were alerted by neighbors that people may be inside of the home.

TFR says they found two people inside and were taken out of there by firefighters. Crews then extinguished the blaze and were able to control the fire within 45 minutes.

Two more searches were conducted and no other people were found inside the home.

Three people were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment and firefighters say one person died due to their injuries.

"There were no reports of injuries to firefighters on scene," the news release reads.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
