MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a 61-year-old Palmetto woman who drove into a ditch and crashed into a culvert after an unspecified "medical episode."
Authorities said the woman had been driving a pickup truck west on 301 Boulevard East, near the intersection of 1st Street, when the “medical episode” happened.
The 61-year-old was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital where she later died. Her 11-year-old passenger received no injuries, FHP said.
