10 Weather: First weekend of May is a Summer teaser

A quiet weekend with bright sunshine and brief late day showers, mainly inland.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The month of May has kicked off with some heat added to it! This weekend has featured unseasonably warm mornings and afternoons with the occasional seabreeze shower kicking on during peak heating hours. With just enough dry air mixing in to the upper levels of our atmosphere, the chance for severe weather remains very low.

Tonight: It will be slightly muggy with lighter winds overnight. Patchy fog possible by sunrise. Temperatures falling to the low and mid 70s.

Sunday: The nice pattern continues under a mix of sun and clouds. Rain chances bump up slightly to 20-30% by Sunday once again for inland locations. Otherwise, daytime highs make their way in the middle to upper 80s.

Next Week: With drier air continuing to build, our heat bubble won't burst any time soon. Abundant sunshine stretches into the work week with very few opportunities for rain. Afternoon temperatures range from the upper 80s to the lower 90s.
