UNDATED (AP) — Whitesnake are dropping out of the rest of their tour with Judas Priest because singer David Coverdale is suffering from throat problems.

A statement on Whitesnake's site says the band cut short their show in Denver on Wednesday because Coverdale felt considerable pain in his vocal cords.

A doctor determined Coverdale is suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion. It appears Coverdale did not do permanent damage but he can't sing for at least two weeks.
