ST. PETERSBURG, Florida -- Shocking news for sports fans across Tampa Bay. The iconic Ferg’s Sports Bar across from Tropicana Field has been shut down by state health inspectors as an emergency closure.

State records show the establishment racked up 42 violations August 11th, including what appeared to be maggots in the beer bottle bucket in the bar area, small flying insects in the beer tap train, and rodent droppings in a cabinet with the salt and pepper grinders and napkin holders.

The inspector ordered some of the pepper grinders to be discarded after finding dropping residue in the top of a pepper shaker. Records show the inspector also found a “fuzzy dropping” in a container of wet wipes.
