Wauchula, Florida -- High winds from a possible tornado damaged buildings at an assisted living facility here Friday afternoon, the Hardee County Emergency Management Office said.

No injuries were reported.

Staff at the Florida Institute for Neurological Rehabilitation said there was minor structural damage to the administration building, Cypress Cabin, and the medical building. It included damage to the roof, overhangs, and some siding, the EMO said.

About 15 vehicles were also damaged. One overturned.

Personnel took shelter as soon as they heard a roaring sound and saw flying debris, the EMO said.

None of the buildings were evacuated, but electrical power had to be shut to the medical building because water got into the building through broken windows.

The EMO said staff members were able to resume operations at other buildings on the campus after the fire department inspected and cleared the debris.
