Tampa, Florida - Once again, the infamous "Long Island Lolita" is sparking conversation.

This time around, though, Amy Fisher is grabbing different headlines as an adult dancer.

"They just can't wait to see her," said Gary Lieberman, a patron of the DeJaVu Showgirls club in Tampa.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't know the story of the now 34-year-old mother of two.

"I'm old enough to remember the whole story about Joey Buttafuoco and everything that happened there, so it didn't take much to replenish my memory," said Lieberman.

Fisher served seven years for shooting her much older lover's wife in the head as she stood on her own front porch. At the time, Fisher was only 17 years old.

The wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco, survived.

DeJaVu Showgirls' General Manager Eric "Ice" Terrell says he heard she had started a dancing career and wanted to bring her on board for a headlining weekend.

"I asked a few patrons, 'What do you think about Amy Fisher?' and they said, 'Wow'. They would love to see her, if she would come to Tampa," said Terrell.

He says they started advertising her appearance about a month ago, resulting in hundreds of phone calls and emails.

"I get emails form a lot of people that don't even like the strip club business, or even in the business, but they call and have left emails and are curious to come," Terrell told 10 Connects.

But, one has to wonder... what's the curiosity about Amy Fisher?

Terrell answered, "I think it's the bad girl thing and the publicity that happened. I think people are just curious that she's dancing now, let's see what she's all about."

Fisher turned down our request for an interview.

Mary Jo Buttafuoco will be grabbing headlines again soon, as well. According to the Barnes and Noble website, she has a book coming out on July 21st called "Getting it through my thick skull: Why I Stayed, What I Learned, and What Millions of People Involved with Sociopaths Need to Know".

She penned the book after staying by her husband's side for years after the shooting. The bullet remains lodged in her skull. The book's review says she answers the question of why she stayed so long.
