St. Petersburg, Florida - Today, hundreds, if not thousands, gathered at First Baptist Church in St. Petersburg to say goodbye to St. Petersburg Police Officer David S. Crawford.

Crawford died last Tuesday after a shootout with a suspect in downtown St. Petersburg. Nicholas Lindsey, 16, is charged with his murder.
Ofr. Crawford's funeral began at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, which is on Gandy Boulevard just east of I-275 in St. Petersburg. The memorial service ended shortly before 2, and the funeral procession to the cemetary began shortly afterwards.

Members of the community and law enforcement attended, along with Gov. Rick Scott and former Gov. Charlie Crist.
Ofr. Crawford is described as a "crusty" kind of guy, someone who was very "old school" and demanded respect. He leaves behind a wife and daughter.
