Forecast: Tropical Rain Move Into Florida

2:40 PM, May 24, 2012

The heat and humidity are in place with dew points near 70 and high temperatures in the low 90s.  Rain won't be widespread, but that heat and humidity is enough to spark a few storms this afternoon.  Rain chances are 30% and will occur after lunch time today.

The weekend weather is looking a little suspicious as the area of clouds and showers over south Florida is moving NE and will be east of Florida and the SE coast Friday and Saturday. The Hurricane Center has bumped up the chance of organizing the system to 40%. Some models are suggesting it may try to organize in the same area Alberto did (east of SC/GA) and then track W back across north Florida later Sunday and through the day on Monday.  As a result, rain chances are at least 40% for Sunday and Monday. This would place us in a moist pattern for increased showers Memorial Day.
