Less rain still hot

Several factors will hold back rain today resulting in drier weather today.  Moisture has decreased and the air is more stable and these factors will reduce any rain chances over St. Pete and Tampa.

An isolated storm may develop along Highway 27 this after 3 pm but rain chances are only 20%.  The humidity will be sticky until a weak front moves by Friday evening. This makes for more comfortable levels over the weekend and dry weather lasts through Memorial Day.

 Waterspout photo in Downtown Tampa taken by Robert Siegel, a SKYWARN Spotter on vacation from Colorado. He thinks the rotation hit the Westin Harbour Island Hotel where he is staying. There was tree debris. The waterspout will be listed as a brief F0 tornado. Tampa Emergency Management reported a tree and pole down and is investigating.
