The pet retailer Petco announced it has decided to stop selling sell dog or cat food with artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

It would make it the first and only major pet food retailer to do so.

Petco CEO Ron Coughlin made the announcement Tuesday.

The company announced it will start removing products that don’t meet its new standards in January.

Petco hopes to complete the process by May.
