10 Weather: Scattered rain and isolated storms with big changes on the way!

Have your umbrella for the scattered rain and isolated storms.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Big changes are in store for all of the Tampa Bay area this week. We have a very active pattern up head that feels like a battle between Spring and Winter.

Springs wins this weekend, but Winter charges back as we get ready for the Spring Equinox on Tuesday. Lows just north of Tampa in the 40s and even some upper 30s are possible for the Nature Coast.

Monday: Watch out for areas of patchy fog on the commute. Our next cold front arrives Monday bringing us a 60% chance for rain. Expect a band of showers with a few isolated storms and a few rumbles of thunder to go with those downpours. The positive part of a soggy start to the work week is that some of the pollen will wash away for those with strong allegies. We do have a level one-out-of-five risk for severe weather and the main threat is gusty winds low chance for hail.

Tuesday: A shock to the system is in store for us as we have been running 10 degrees above normal, but once this front passes, temperatures will run 10 degrees below normal. Get out the layers and jackets because our first day of Spring feels more like Winter behind our cold front. Highs struggle into the upper 60s with lows dropping into the lower 50s with chilly breezes.

Rest of the Week: The middle of this week looks more dry and quiet until our next disturbance arrives late Thursday into early Friday.
