Need a job? Pinellas Co. is paying more than $46K to school resource officers

Applicants for the positions must be at least 21 years old.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is hiring several school resource deputies as part of a state mandate to place a law enforcement officer in every school by July.

The sheriff's office said the positions are for grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, offer a Monday through Friday schedule and allow deputies a take-home vehicle.

The annual salary starts at $46,410.

Applicants for the positions must be at least 21 years old, and have certification by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.

Anyone with three or more years of certified experience is eligible for a $3,000 signing bonus and a relocation stipend.
