70-year-old woman identified as pedestrian killed in St. Pete hit-and-run

The intersection of 22nd Avenue N and 41st Street North was shut down for several hours.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg police say they're searching for the driver who killed a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday evening.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of 22nd Avenue N and 41st Street North. 

Police identified the pedestrian as 70-year-old Karen Moorefield of St. Petersburg, who died at the scene.

Investigators believe the car involved may be a Cadillac SRX between the years 2013 and 2016 with front-end damage.
