Pinellas County detectives arrested a homeless man for second degree murder after a fatal fight in St. Pete Beach Thursday afternoon.

Bruce Edward Wilson, 51, allegedly beat 41-year-old Kenneth Arthur Darling, also homeless, at the west end of the 78th Ave. cul-de-sac, just west of Coquina Way.

Detectives say the two got into a physical alteration after drinking alcohol and that Wilson struck Darling in the face six to seven times. Deputies responded and found Darling lying on the ground, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wilson was arrested without incident and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

The incident remains under investigation.
