Courtney Robinson

Hello, Hello! I’m Courtney Robinson, the noon and 5 p.m. anchor here on 10 Tampa Bay.

I want to share my background, career and experiences with you because I’m sure we can all relate to one thing or another.

I grew up on Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where my dad served with Special Operations. Being part of a military family is an incredible experience, and I have so much respect for the service and sacrifice military families and veterans in our community make and have made.

I’m also a Gold Star daughter as my father died while in service to our country. These experiences have really fueled me to share the stories of our military, of families, of veterans – the triumphs, the struggles, the support available in Tampa Bay and the support still needed. Please reach out to me with any story idea or what you think people should know about our servicemen, servicewomen and their families.

My husband and I chose to make Tampa our home and have not looked back. We have two children, Harper and Vincent, and our sweet yellow lab, Hanford (I’m looking at you Cleveland fans). Not only do they keep us busy and help us find places to explore, but they give me a different perspective on reporting. I’m always asking how things happening in our wonderful cities and counties truly impact children and families or what is affecting families and kids.

I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Journalism and came to Florida from Washington, D.C., where I reported for ABC7. Over my career, I’ve reported on many national stories including the mass shooting at Virginia Tech, presidential elections and inaugurations, numerous hurricanes, snowstorms and have been an eyewitness to history. I’ve received several awards for my career in journalism, including an Emmy Award for a piece produced here in Tampa exposing the lack of funding for pediatric cancer research and why, as told by a mother whose infant died from outdated chemotherapy drugs.

Those are the stories, though difficult, I most enjoy sharing. Your stories – the inspirational stories that help our community.

Finally, I really enjoy volunteer work. I lend my time and voice to organizations I’m passionate about including the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Pinellas County’s Babycycle Diaper Bank, Quantum Leap Farm, The Southeastern Guide Dogs, St. John’s Episcopal Church & Parish Day School and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for taking the time to get to know me. If you see me out at the store, park, or a Bucs or Lightning game or wherever – please stop and say hello!
