I'm beyond thrilled to be a part of the 10 Tampa Bay weather team in beautiful, sunny Florida! Well, sunny once those daily afternoon storms clear out, of course.
I actually spent my childhood years growing up in Rockledge, Florida, near Cape Canaveral. It was during my younger years that I fell in love with thunderstorms and became absolutely fascinated with their power.
Between my dad working for NASA, and my mom, Disney, I was in heaven! I truly believe learning about weather (and all things space-related) in Central Florida at such a young age fueled my love for severe weather and the tropics – a passion that I held on to even after my dad's job transferred us to Houston.
I graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in environmental/atmospheric science and a minor in geology. It wasn’t until an internship at a TV station in Houston that I decided to pursue my passion through broadcasting. After college, I worked my way up the broadcast news industry through various cities in Texas: Abilene, College Station, and eventually to one of my favorite cities, Austin!
From historical river flooding, Hurricane Harvey, to widespread winter weather, I really got a taste of it all in Texas. I even had the opportunity to present the game day football forecasts for the award-winning pre-game show, “Aggie Gameday.” But to be honest, my heart had always been eager to take on the challenges of forecasting and covering tropical weather back in the state that started it all for me, and of course…head back to the beach!
Since joining 10 Tampa Bay, I've had my fair share of hurricane and space coverage. From nonstop coverage during storms like hurricanes Elsa and Ian, to covering one of NASA and SpaceX's historic crewed rocket launches, it's been an incredible journey.
My husband and our four fur-babies love exploring new places across the bay area every weekend. We are forever grateful that we get to call this beautiful place home!
