A local, young playwright is making a name for herself based on her award-winning play. But many who view her art may not be aware that she is also challenged by autism. Erica King wrote “Time to Get a New Car,” which won Best Play, Best Director, Best Actor and Best “Oh Snap” line at the CL sponsored 4x6 Festival this past July. Along with a cast member from the play, Erica told us about her experience with writing this play in such a short amount of time. Because the it won in the Best Play category, it will now compete in the 2018 Tampa Bay Theatre Festival on Sunday, Sep. 2nd from 1-2:30 p.m at the Straz.
