If you haven’t had crinkle cookies around the holidays, you are missing out. The fudgy cookie rolled in powdered sugar with its crackled top is always a crowd favorite. In this week’s Host Help sponsored by California Closets, designing better lives, Janelle takes you inside her kitchen to show you how to make red velvet crinkle cookies.

Ingredients

1 1/3 cup of All Purpose Flour

2/3 cup of Granulated Sugar

3 Tbsp of Cocoa Powder

1/4 cup of Unsalted Butter, softened at room temperature

1 tsp of Baking Powder

1/4 tsp of Salt

2 Eggs

Red Food Coloring

1 tsp of Vanilla Extract

1/2 cup of Confectioner Sugar

Hershey Kisses

1) Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder and set aside

2) In a second bowl, stir together the butter and sugar, vanilla and eggs-- mix until creamy and smooth.

3) Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix. Then add food coloring until you achieve your desired color


4) Place the dough in a bowl, cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours or overnight.

5) Preheat oven to 350 degrees, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

6) Roll little balls of dough and coat them in the confectioner sugar, place them a few inches apart on your prepared baking sheets.

7) Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, remove from the oven, allow them to sit for 2 minutes then place a Hershey kiss
in the center
