JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Alligators in Florida aren't an uncommon sighting on a yearly, monthly, weekly basis, but spotting a 9-footer in the middle of a road in downtown Jacksonville is.

A man and a child were seen wrangling the and capturing the gator, moving it off Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Towards the end of the video, the gator is hoisted into the man's trunk.

The man who took the video, Henry Coleman, told the Florida Times-Union that he was amazed how well the child did assisting his father with the alligator.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program “uses contracted nuisance alligator trappers throughout the state to remove alligators from locations where they are unwanted or unwelcome," according to a March 13 article by from the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

It's considered a nuisance if it's a 4 feet long or potentially poses a threat.

Warning: The video could contain offensive language to some.
