TAMPA, Fla. — A cat was finally found after going missing on Thursday in a parking garage at Tampa International Airport.

Sai, the handsome kitty who went missing, has been under the care of his grandma Karen after his mom, Hanna, moved to Germany to be close to her husband who's in the Army.

But one day, Sai decided to jump into the back of Karen's car secretly and catch a ride to TPA.

According to airport officials, when the grandma got out of the car in the long-term parking garage to go catch her flight, the cat jumped out and ran away.

"One of Hanna's best friends heard about this and reached out to TPA via Facebook, asking for us to help track down Sai," airport leaders wrote on Facebook. "We immediately alerted our Police Department and Operations crew to be on the lookout and the team sprang into action."

It wasn't until late in the night that workers spotted Sai in the garage and reunited him with the friend who reached out to the airport. They will take care of the cat while Karen is away.

"Way to go, Team TPA!" the Facebook post read in part.
