ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — A pedestrian was killed on State Road 54 in Zephyrhills after he was hit by a car that took off after the crash.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the 70-year-old was attempting to walk across the road west of Allen Road and was hit by a car just after midnight Sunday. The driver initially stopped but took off eastbound.
A witness described the suspect's vehicle as a silver Nissan sports sedan, according to troopers.
