Suspect charged in overnight shooting in Ybor City parking garage

This is an active investigation.

TAMPA, Fla. — A 21-year-old man is now facing charges in connection to a shooting in an Ybor City parking garage early Saturday morning.

Sunny E. Wallace is accused of shooting at three men around 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Officers with the Tampa Police Department heard shots fired and responded to the scene on East 5th Avenue, where they found three victims who were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Wallace attempted to flee the scene but was quickly located and placed under arrest.

He is charged with attempted second-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated battery, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, and fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer.

The investigation so far shows the shooting was the result of an argument and a gun was found in Wallace's car, police said.

Tampa police are still investigating, and no other information was immediately available.
