CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Dunedin man is in the hospital in critical condition after he was weaving in and out of traffic and hit two cars on Saturday night.

Motorcyclist Matthew W. Dolch Jr., 26, was driving south on U.S. 19 near Enterprise Road and weaving in and out of traffic in a "reckless manner," according to a news release from Clearwater officials.

Dolch hit the rear of one car then bounced off and hit another car at 7:30 p.m. He was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement said speed and alcohol are thought to be the factors that contributed to the crash and Dolch is in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

All southbound lanes were closed south of Republic Drive to Enterprise Road but have since reopened.
