Man arrested in connection to stabbing death in Tampa; deputies search for others involved

TAMPA, Florida — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested a man said to be connected to a homicide that happened over the weekend in Tampa.

At around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the area of Rock Harbour Way on reports of a stabbing, according to the sheriff's office. Once on scene, they reportedly found a man with upper body trauma and took him to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after, the sheriff's office said.

Ja'Quan Glymp, 34, was arrested in connection to the death of the man.

"Our hearts ache for this senseless and tragic loss, but our detective's determination to find answers only grows stronger," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. "Every piece of information in this investigation brings us one step closer to answers; that's one step closer to providing solace to the shattered hearts of the victim's loved ones."

Detectives with the sheriff's office are working to identify other people potentially involved in this case.
