TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — A Florida woman is charged with misdemeanor battery after she allegedly groped another woman aboard a ship and then told the victim's husband "you should go back to the country you came from" after he objected.
According to Tarpon Springs police report, Lisa Anne Matteson, 58, of Port Richey, was on board the Spongearama cruise boat, a small vessel that tours the Anclote River north of Tampa, on Friday when she grabbed another woman's buttocks twice and made crude comments in front of the victim's husband and 6-year-old daughter.
She allegedly said, "Oh, it's curved and nice."
When the husband interceded, she made her comment to him. His nationality wasn't listed.
Witnesses told police the woman appeared drunk.
According to the affidavit, when she was interviewed Matteson denied groping the woman, said she didn't remember anything and didn't know why she was being arrested.
She did admit to telling the husband to go back to the country he came from, police said.
