STUART, Fla. -- A Florida firefighter earned his badge and a fiancée in a matter of minutes.
New firefighter and EMT Matthew Schotanus had just graduated with his recruiting class last week in Martin County when he let folks know he wasn't done setting up his future just yet.
As soon as his girlfriend finished putting on his badge, Schotanus dropped to one knee.
No words were spoken. The two just knew they were meant to be.
They hugged, and he helped her put on the engagement ring.
Then, they shared a kiss amid applause in the background.
Congratulations to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Schotanus! What a wonderful holiday gift!
