A generator problem caused a scary-looking fire in St. Pete Thursday.

An RV caught fire Thursday morning in a south St. Petersburg parking lot. It's believed it was caused by a mechanical problem with a generator.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- One person escaped without injuries from an RV fire in St. Petersburg Thursday morning.

It happened near the intersection of 34th Street and 38th Avenue in South St. Pete.

Fire and Rescue officials said the fire was accidental and caused by a mechanical issue with a generator.
