Ground beef sold at this Publix store should be thrown out or returned

Meat sold on or after Feb. 14 is said to be safe.

SPRING HILL, Fla. — Publix announced a voluntary recall of several ground meat products that were sold recently at a Spring Hill store.

The company says the products sold on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Lakewood Plaza location, located at 4365 Commercial Way, could contain the potential of some foreign material. The meat should be thrown out or returned for a full refund.

Meat sold on or after Feb. 14 are not impacted, the company said.

"As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from the store shelves," spokesperson Maria Brous said in a statement.
