TAMPA, Fla. — After four years of serving up local beer and food, showcasing live entertainment and partying before and after Tampa Bay Lightning games, Ferg's Live is closing its doors.
The restaurant and hangout confirmed the closing on Facebook after the Tampa Bay Business Journal first broke the news. Ferg's Live's last day open will be Saturday.
The business journal said the sports bar and live music venue across from Amalie Arena was always meant to be temporary.
Its closure helps make way for the arrival of Water Street Tampa, a $3 billion, mixed-use walkable district in downtown. Strategic Property Partners is Water Street's developer along with partners Cascade Investment LLC and Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik.
