HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla — A 27-year-old man was arrested after hitting a pedestrian with his truck and leaving the scene on State Road 574 Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Mauro Alfanso Caalmaez, 27, of Plant City, was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury and driving with no license.
FHP said Alfanso Caalmaez hit the pedestrian, an unidentified man, while he was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup heading east on State Road 574, west of Lindsey Road, at about 8:40 p.m.
After the crash, Alfanso Caalmaez left the scene only to return two hours later, FHP said.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
