HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A driver of a semi-truck is hurt after troopers say they lost control and crashed into a barrier wall Tuesday afternoon in Hillsborough County.

The northbound lanes were shut down for an extended period of time but have since reopened.

At 12:35 p.m., the driver was heading northbound on Interstate 75 near exit 250 at Gibsonton Drive when they lost control, jackknifed and crashed into a barrier wall, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver was hurt in the crash but reportedly does not have any life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the collision, northbound lanes past exit 250, just south of Alafia River, were closed as crews worked to clean up a "significant fuel leak," troopers said.
