King High School students can register to vote Wednesday

TAMPA, Fla. - The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office is visiting county high schools to help students register to vote.

Wednesday's student voter registration comes in the aftermath of the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Florida introduced online voter registration in October 2017. King High School students can use tablets to register to vote on Wednesday.

Students can pre-register to vote starting at age 16.

Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer recognizes the most successful high school voter registration drives every election year. King High School took first place in 2014 and second place in 2016.
