Hillsborough County: A 26-year-old woman hit, killed by a train in Seffner

The woman was lying dead on the tracks when deputies arrived, officials said.

SEFFNER, Fla. — A woman found dead late Monday lying on railroad tracks was hit and killed by a train, authorities said.

Deputies got a call at 11:30 p.m. from someone who saw a body on the tracks on Parsons Avenue between West Dr. MLK Boulevard and Claire Drive, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found the 26-year-old woman who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives eventually determined she was hit by a train.

No other details about what happened were available.

This is the second time a train accident has happened in the area following the death of another woman back in November 2023.

The investigation is still ongoing.
