Party at Airbnb leads to shots fired, property damage, Bradenton police say

Once officers arrived, partygoers scattered and police said, at some point, shots were fired a couple of blocks away from the home.

BRADENTON, Fla. — Tenants staying in an Airbnb in Bradenton were removed after throwing a party Tuesday night, authorities say.

Police responded just before 11:30 p.m. to a noise complaint at a home on Southern Parkway West where several young people threw a party, a spokesperson for the Bradenton Police Department said.

Once officers arrived, partygoers scattered and police said, at some point, shots were fired a couple of blocks away from the home. Police officers went over to the area where they heard gunshots and were able to report no one was hurt.

Police collected shell casings from the shooting, but at this time there are no arrests in the investigation.

Three homeowners in the area also reported property damage following the Airbnb party, Bradenton police said. One homeowner shared a photo that showed tape on the window of their front door after it was cracked all over.

Wednesday morning, police went back to the Airbnb and the tenants were kicked out, they said. A manager for the Airbnb listing confirmed to 10 Tampa Bay that the tenants were removed and they have been in contact with the host company.

The home has been listed on Airbnb since September 2022 and this was the first time police have been called to the home, Bradenton police report.
