Bradenton, Florida -- The mother of a child and her boyfriend have been charged in the death of the boy earlier this month.
Alexander Marr, 4, was pronounced dead April 12 after deputies responded to the scene in the 700 block of 59th Ave. Terrace W.
An autopsy showed his injuries were consistent with child abuse, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Dianna Marr, 32, and her boyfriend, Trevor Cardarelle, 25, are charged with aggravated manslaughter on a child.
Cardarelle has been in the Manatee County Jail since April 12 when he was arrested for violating probation and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He also was charged with capital sexual battery for assaulting a female under the age of 12.
In a related arrest, Karla Kay Gray, 53, of Palmetto, has been charged with failure to report child abuse. She is the maternal grandmother of Alexander.
