Zephyrhills, Florida -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills is opening up a brand new breast health center Thursday.
There's a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony tonight, Oct. 4 for the Simpson Breast Health Center at the hospital at 7050 Gall Boulevard in Zephyrhills.
The event starts at 5 p.m. and goes until 7 p.m. The ribbon cutting will happen at 6 p.m.
According to the hospital's website, the new center is designed to help speed up the mammogram process to diagnosis treatment, reducing what used to take weeks or months to just days.
If breast cancer is found, the center will provide a centralized location where all care is coordinated.This will improve the flow of communication with caregivers and provides and educational resource to patients and their families.
